In the UFP you can certainly be anything you want to be and your imagination is truly your only limit. You can be a member of Starfleet Command, an X-Files UFP-FBI Special Agent, a Highlander Immortal, a Doctor Who Timelord, a vampire from Forever Knight or Dark Shadows, a member of the elite UFP Assembly, a bar tender like Quark on a space station or planet or ship, serve on one of the Councils, a Harry Mudd free trader, a governor of a planet or star system, or just about anything you want to be, you limit your choices in the UFP. You can join in the military Starfleet Command, the Civilian Sector, the Alien Fleet, the Starfleet Marine Corps, the Battlestar Galactica or the Babylon 5.

In the UFP you can be a member of ANY science fiction or fantasy race you want to be. You can be a Vulcan, a Bajoran, a Minbari, a Chamiloid, a Timelord, a Jem’Hadar, an immortal, a Klingon, a Romulan, a Vampire, a Human or just anything you want to be, even a dragon!

There is a one time membership fee which covers you for the rest of your life which is only $5.00 for U.S., APO and Canadian individual membership plus 50 cents per additional family member for U.S. and Canadian family membership and $10.00 for overseas foreign individual membership plus 50 cents per additional family member for overseas foreign family membership. However, since you have internet access you may elect to pay only $3.00 for U.S., APO and Canadian individual membership plus 50 cents per additional family member for U.S. and Canadian family membership and $5.00 for overseas foreign individual membership plus 50 cents per additional family member for overseas foreign family membership and receive your membership certificate and card in the mail and obtain the handbook and other membership packet materials from this web site. THAT’S IT, PAY ONCE FOR A LIFE TIME!!!

The UFP official newsletter SubSpace is posted on the web page three times a year in April, August and December. The SubSpace is made up of articles submitted by UFP members for UFP members. There are articles on the different areas of fandom from Star Trek to the X-Files. Anyone can send in stories, jokes, cartoons, want ads for things wanted or things to be sold, and articles you want published. The SubSpace newsletter is published on this web site as it is sent to it's subscribers who have no internet access with a subscription fee of $10.00 a year.

The UFP was originally started for Star Trek fans who wanted more than just being Captain Kirk. We liked Harry Mudd, the Vulcans, the Klingons and the Romulans too. Since Gene Roddenberry had given us so much more in the Star Trek universe he set up then it only stood to reason that he wanted someone to use it so the UFP took off with the civilian side and the alien side of Star Trek of which no other fan club wanted or used.

It is all made available to the members of the UFP and even more such as Star Wars, Dr. Who, The X-Files, Babylon 5 and more have been set up in the Star Trek universe of the UFP so come and join us on our adventure!!

WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU JOIN

For the small one time UFP membership fee you become a life time UFP member with all of the rights, privileges and benefits accorded all citizens of the UFP.

You receive a membership packet in the mail within 4 to 6 weeks after your UFP membership application is processed by the UFP Headquarters.

The membership packet includes a UFP membership card, a UFP membership certificate which is suitable for framing, a UFP membership handbook that will provide the new UFP member with all they need to know about the UFP, a current UFP chapter list, a current list of UFP services available for all UFP members, a UFP merchandise order form to be used when ordering official UFP merchandise items (t-shirts, patches, caps, etc.) and a subscription form to be used to subscribe to the official UFP newsletter, SubSpace.

The one time UFP life time membership fee covers only the costs of the membership packet materials which includes the above contents plus the envelope used to mail them in and the postage stamps for the membership packet envelope.

Once a person joins the UFP it is up to them to become as active as they wish to be in the UFP by joining a local UFP chapter, starting a local UFP chapter, getting active with the UFP government by becoming a UFP Assembly Ambassador or working in one of the Departments of the Secretariat (the equivalent of todays Civil Service), or just being a UFP member who may or may not subscribe to the official UFP newsletter, SubSpace.
